Andy Youell

Andy is an experienced data and systems professional who has been at the leading edge of developments in UK higher education data for thirty-five years. He offers advice and support on all aspects of data and on the processes and systems that surround it.

Andy has extensive consultancy and project experience working with HE providers, technology suppliers and government bodies across the world. He has experience as a CIO, CDO and Data Protection Officer; running ISO9001 and ISO27001 management systems; building data and systems capabilities. He undertakes reviews and investigations and advises on all aspects of data in higher education.

Andy writes about the changing relationship with data in the modern world and is a renowned speaker for conferences and events in the UK and beyond. He runs training workshops on all aspects of data and has led UK-wide initiatives to develop data skills and organisational capabilities. He is a regular contributor to podcasts and webinars covering everything from higher education policy to the finer points of data quality assurance.
